Approach To Coaching
Who I Work With
I coach senior leaders in high-visibility, high-responsibility roles—often in their early years stepping into executive leadership. Most of my clients are department heads, VPs, and C-level leaders at growing companies. They’re balancing the weight of ownership, the complexity of peer dynamics, and the pressure to deliver results quickly.
The early stage of a new role is a powerful window. It’s your chance to set the tone for your relationships, decide how you want to show up, and ask for what you need. It’s also when you have the most freedom to question old norms—or reshape them with curiosity. Coaching helps you make the most of this window so you start strong and build momentum that lasts.
What We Work On
Common topics include:
Harnessing the inner critic and channeling your inner confidence
Communicating with impact—especially in high-stakes conversations
Giving and receiving feedback with less stress and more clarity
Managing relationships with peers, managers, Boards, or direct reports
Your Answers, Your Agenda
Coaching isn’t about me handing you the answer—it’s about helping you uncover the right answers for you. Books and podcasts have their place, but if the solution was already in them, you would’ve done it by now.
Coaching is about fresh perspectives and useful reminders. I’ll bring questions, insights, and frameworks, but you set the agenda. My role is to help you track themes, notice blind spots, and connect the dots—always in service of what matters most to you and your role.
The real leap is turning what you know into what you do in your specific context. That’s where our partnership comes in.
Structure
For many of my clients, this is their first time working with a coach. A little structure upfront helps us get traction quickly. In our first few sessions, we’ll set clear goals and use a set of reflection exercises to get a baseline. From there, the structure lightens up—but that early foundation makes it easier to track progress and keep momentum going.
My Style
I balance support and challenge. Sometimes you’ll need a sounding board who listens deeply and helps you sort through complexity. Other times you’ll need someone to call out what’s not being said and push you further. My style flexes with the conversation—sometimes fast-paced and energizing, sometimes slower and reflective. Always candid. Always with your best interests at heart.
What Makes Coaching Work
Confidentiality
Everything you share with me stays with me. I won’t share that you’re a client or discuss our work without your permission. That said, I encourage you to bring others into your growth. Clients who share their insights with trusted colleagues or mentors often create more momentum.
Accountability
You’re accountable to yourself, not to me. My role is to help you keep the commitments you make to yourself and to honor the ones we make to each other. That starts with being on time and ready for our sessions—on both sides.
Honesty
There’s no learning without honesty. I want to hear what feels uncomfortable, when you’re skeptical, and why you didn’t do the thing you said you were going to do. That’s useful data. I’ll be as honest with you as I’m asking you to be with me. I’ll name it when I hear an assumption. I’ll name it when I hear a contradiction. I’ll name it when I see you fired up—or when I see you flat. I name these things in the spirit of discovery, and it’s always up to you to decide what’s true.
Play
Sometimes what helps us get unstuck is stepping out of our default mode. Play gives creativity some oxygen, shifts perspective, and opens up more resourceful choices.
Logistics
Sessions
60 minutes, held by video or phone
Flexible frequency: up to two sessions per month
Pricing
Initial 3-month commitment: $4,500 (up to two sessions per month)
After that: $1,500/month (up to two sessions per month)
Many of my clients travel, and unpredictable things come up that mean they sometimes need to meet less, sometimes more. This structure offers flexibility while keeping momentum moving forward.
Cancellations
A session can be rescheduled within the same month. If not used by month’s end, the session expires.
Engagement Length
The length of our work together is up to you. Some clients come for a few months during a big transition, while others stay for years as their roles and challenges evolve. I’m most interested in working with leaders who see coaching as a long-term investment in their growth.
